1. Bulk schedule emails
Work when I’m in the zone and schedule emails to go out first thing in the morning (while I’m meeting clients or working on other projects)
2. Leverage the strengths of my team
I don’t pretend that I know everything in running a business, so I bring people in that can support my vision. I listen to their ideas, support them to run their own projects to support the business, and provide the tools, training, and resources they need to get the job done.
3. Tap into the right tools
I lead a remote team so it’s vital we have communication with each other to help our clients in the best way possible. Plus, we wouldn’t be walking our talk if we didn’t run our business efficiently when we are helping our clients to do the same.
We keep things simple and love using Monday CRM, the Google suite (especially the chat function for quick team questions instead of emails), and LinkedIn to share our content with clients.
4. Happy with things being done, not perfect
I’m a big believer in getting things to a point where we can test them, without being worried about everything being perfect. I know this might sound odd, but sometimes we procrastinate too much when the final refinements to a process can only be seen when you actually put it into practise. This also means me and my team test and collaborate on things for our clients and provide the best way of doing things from a practical (not just theoretical) perspective).
This 80/20 rule serves us well, and although it can be uncomfortable for the perfectionists out there, it’s a game changer when you tap into this.
5. Remain a lifelong learner
I’m always looking for ways to improve myself, my team, and the service we offer clients. I don’t ever believe things are finished when it comes to learning. We stay at the forefront of technology, trends, and tools so that we can help our clients achieve their goals too.
